Accessibility Statement
I want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy Gem TD. This statement describes where things stand today, the known limitations, and how to tell me about a barrier so I can try to fix it.
1. My commitment
I aim to follow widely recognised accessibility guidance (the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG) as a practical target for this site, and to keep improving over time. As a solo developer I cannot promise full conformance, but I treat accessibility issues as real bugs worth fixing.
2. What is supported
- Reduced motion: this site honours the operating-system “reduce motion” setting — animated effects are minimised or turned off when you enable it.
- Keyboard focus: interactive elements have visible focus outlines, and a “skip to content” link is provided.
- Readable structure: pages use proper headings, sufficient contrast against the dark theme, and text that scales with your browser’s zoom.
- Responsive layout: the site adapts to different screen sizes and orientations.
3. Known limitations
- Gem TD is a fast-paced, real-time tower-defense game that is primarily designed for mouse/keyboard (and touch) input; it can be visually busy and time-sensitive, which may make some parts difficult for players with certain motor or visual needs.
- The game relies on visual information (gem colours, board layout) that may not be fully conveyed by a screen reader.
- Some third-party components (such as the payment checkout) are outside my direct control, though I choose providers that take accessibility seriously.
These are areas I would like to improve; feedback genuinely helps prioritise them.
4. Reporting a barrier
If you hit an accessibility barrier, please email [email protected] with what happened, the page or part of the game involved, and the device, browser, and any assistive technology you were using. I will do my best to respond and to offer a workaround or fix.
